Sam has 15 years of experience in climate change and specialises in helping companies and institutional investors understand the risks and opportunities associated with the transition to a lower-carbon economy, as well as the physical risks associated with a changing climate. Sam works with a variety of clients to provide strategic advice on how organisations can align their governance, strategy, and risk management processes with the latest best practice recommendations, such as those set out by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
At SLR, Sam leads the delivery of Climate Change Risk Assessments, supporting clients in meeting the latest best practice standards, including those from Equator Principles EP4 and International Finance Corporation Performance Standards. Sam also works across a range of Sustainable Finance projects and is passionate about redirecting capital towards climate solutions. Sam is a seasoned presenter and has hosted numerous workshops and webinars on the topic of climate change and its impacts for a variety of audiences.
Sam joined SLR from an independent not-for-profit think tank working to advance sustainability and climate resilience. He previously co-founded a boutique advisory firm providing climate data and risk analytics to institutional investors and held the role of CEO at a carbon rating firm.
