Services
Environmental Impact Studies (Ecology)
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) may be required for permitting applications for developments of any size where an impact upon valued ecological receptors may occur. SLR has extensive experience in scoping, undertaking baseline assessments, assessing potential project and cumulative effects, mitigation planning and determining residual impacts for various projects across many different sectors.
SLR has extensive experience in developing effective and efficient monitoring programs that are often a condition of approval for many project types. Our Ecologists have skills in evaluation and interpretation of survey and monitoring data which have allowed SLR to recommend realistic mitigation and compensation measures that reduce the overall impacts upon sensitive fauna, flora, and habitats.
Air Quality
The global air quality team brings experience with the assessment of impacts associated across all business sectors including Oil and Gas, Mining and Minerals, Industry, Power, Infrastructure, and Built Environment.
With an increasing global population, heightened social awareness of critical environmental issues, and the expansion of international regulatory framework, air quality resource management is emerging as a priority for industries and governments around the world.
Noise & Vibration
Our technical specialists offer guidance on acoustics, noise and vibration for a wide scope of projects ranging from city scale environments to detailed building or infrastructure elements.
Our goal is to create functional, comfortable indoor and outdoor environments which are compatible with their surroundings. We offer unique expertise and practical solutions, from planning through to construction, which balance potential environmental issues with the need for development.
Pedestrian Wind Comfort Services
Wind, climate and energy usage, and design & capture, are all integral elements in the creation and sustainability of our built and natural environment.
By using a range of numerical and physical modelling capabilities, our world-renowned expert team are able to accurately model air flow, turbulence, heat transfer, weather and climate analysis.
We use this analysis to better understand the surrounding environment and the impacts development may have, providing our clients with an innovative approach to ensure their design is correct the first time.
Hydrology & Hydrogeology
Our team deliver high-quality expertise across diverse groundwater projects for private and public sectors. Our specialists integrate technical, legal, and economic considerations to support informed decision-making at all project stages.
The interdisciplinary team—including hydrologists, water resource experts, ecologists, and climate scientists—offers a holistic, sustainable approach to water management. We help clients identify key risks and implement cost-effective solutions that align with best practices and regulations.
With proven experience working alongside planners, developers, and regulators, we support projects in sensitive hydrological areas and regions vulnerable to drought or flood risk, ensuring resilient and sustainable outcomes.
Geotechnical Engineering
Our large team of geotechnical engineers, geologists and engineering geologists have international experience in research, contracting and consulting. We can provide the full spectrum of geotechnical engineering capability, from desk study through field investigation, factual reporting, geotechnical interpretation, stability analysis, foundation assessment, design and supervision.
Our geotechnical services support and complement SLR’s civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, water resources, environmental science, planning, and transportation services.
Fluvial Geomorphology
Our geomorphology and river engineering experts specialize in natural channel design for stream realignment, river erosion hazard assessments, and meander belt evaluations. We assess floodplain limits, design and oversee bed and bank stabilization, and develop Erosion and Sediment Control plans. Our geomorphology expertise extends to landslide mapping, ecosystem characterizations, and archaeological investigations.
