We are pleased to share that we have renewed our commitment to the People Matter Charter with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, of which we are a Gold member.
The People Matter Charter was created to help organisations in the UK identify and address the challenges in treating people responsibly. As a result, eight commitments were produced that signatories and their supply chain should be able to pledge to, if they truly believe 'People Matter'. The commitments include wellbeing, equality, human rights, diversity and inclusion, workplace culture and training.
SLR initially signed up to the People Matter Charter in 2022, and in recommitting this year we have been able to produce a case study which is available to view on the Supply Chain School’s website.
Being a signatory of the People Matter Charter shows our commitment to bringing positive change to our people; and our case study demonstrates how we have improved our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion experience at SLR during the last year.
We have achieved this through collecting increased DE&I data; adding a Global DE&I Manager to our team, as well as a European DE&I Manager and regional DE&I Committees, who have launched a Global Strategy and Regional DE&I Action Plans; and by addressing our Gender Pay Gap and setting a target that by the end of 2024, 40% of management roles and 30% of leadership roles will be occupied by women.
You can read about all of these improvements and targets in greater detail in our Case Study, and see the impact these have had on our company culture. The benefits a diverse workforce brings to our business are significant, and we want to ensure all our colleagues are treated as equally and fairly as possible. We see our commitment to the People Matter Charter as an important tool in achieving this goal.
