Challenge

We are retained by St William (part of the Berkeley Group) on Clarendon Gas Works. Clarendon is a 12-acre city village situated in Zone 3, part of the Haringey Heartlands Regeneration. Developed by St William, it promises to be an exciting new destination with over 1,800 new homes, resident’s facilities, a Cultural Quarter and over 125,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Solution

SLR has been involved in this scheme for many years providing transport consultancy advice. A key part of the new proposal was to create a high density development in this accessible location to address London Borough of Haringey's evolving plans designed around people place and landscaping.

We have helped create a significantly enhanced new streetscape with pedestrians and cyclists as the principal users. This provides access for residents and visitors, but discourages through traffic, and creates a social space for new residents.

Impact

This proposal is now half way through construction and SLR continue to be involved in the transport strategy at the site.
