Roam Renewable Energy (Pty) Ltd (Roam) intends to develop the up to 400MW Roam Wind Energy Facility (WEF) in the Prince Albert Local Municipality, Western Cape. The WEF is being developed to provide electricity to Eskom via the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (REIPPPP).
As per the National Environment Management Act (NEMA, Act No. 107 of 1998, as amended) and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014 as amended), a Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment (S&EIA) process will be followed for the Development. The formal application will be submitted to the Competent Authority (CA), Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE).
SLR Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (SLR), an independent firm of Environmental Assessment Practitioners, has been appointed by Roam Renewables to undertake the required Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment (S&EIA) Process.
