How can we help? 

The SLR Process Engineering team assist clients in ensuring they comply with their regulatory requirements relating to industrial wastewater cost-effectively. This can involve tasks related to; design and implementation of waste minimisation processes on production lines, existing treatment plant operation and maintenance, including troubleshooting and process optimisation, new treatment plant selection, specification, and commissioning, regulator liaison and expert witness services.

The team also lends their technical expertise to complete Technical Due Diligence on the development of new processing plants or acquisitions. This work often carries forward to providing contract support, acting as Owner’s Engineer and carrying out Performance Testing of new plants and equipment.

The team can carry out this work across industries thanks to their systematic approach, but have specific experience with food and drink, whisky distilleries, recycling, energy from waste, and anaerobic digestion plants.

  • Jason Dodd Technical Discipline Manager
    Jason Dodd

    Jason has been involved in the facilitation, planning, permitting, design, procurement, and construction contract management of numerous waste handling, treatment and disposal facilities in the UK. Jason has worked on landfill containment engineering, leachate and landfill gas management systems, leachate treatment systems, and waste processing and treatment facilities. Jason has experience in design and taken on the role of a multi-disciplinary Project Manager, managing the development of new large waste treatment and disposal facilities from inception through to operation.

  • Mark Cumberbatch Principal Process Engineer
    Mark Cumberbatch

    Mark has extensive project management experience, primarily relating to process engineering. He has particular experience with waste water treatment, soil and groundwater contamination assessment as well as environmental risk assessment and environmental due diligence. He has experience of in-situ, ex-situ and engineering solutions to contamination problems, including in-situ bioremediation, air stripping, carbon absorption and groundwater pump and treat. He also brings experience in working with multi and dual phase extraction, air sparging, passive vapour extraction, cut-off trench design, and remedial pilot testing.

  • Euan Munro Associate Process Engineer
    Euan Munro

    Euan is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and came to SLR after seven years of managing the operations of Sugar, Whisky and Animal Feed manufacturing plants as well as Anaerobic Digestion and Industrial Wastewater treatment systems. He leads the team in Process Safety related projects including HAZOP and HAZID studies, Major Accident to the Environment assessments, support with COMAH Safety Reports, and DSEAR assessments. Euan is well versed in the applicable legislation across many sectors and can offer practical solutions to safety and environmental protection, while ensuring regulator satisfaction.

  • Richard Muridzi Project Process Engineer
    Richard Muridzi

    Richard has experience of working on projects involving a wide range of waste and energy technologies, including waste to energy, anaerobic digestion, digestate drying and biomass to energy. He also has training in assessing energy utilisation for energy from waste facilities and technical due diligence of wastewater processes and anaerobic digesters. His training has included designing and optimising waste water facilities using a variety of membrane technologies.
