Renewable Energy Services
Our multidisciplinary team works closely across SLR’s Energy Advisory operation to provide support, coordination, expertise and strategic perspective to clients from pre-construction to operational phase of renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), onshore wind, and green hydrogen. We support renewable energy developers and other sectors in their decarbonisation.

Overview
Our expert team offers pragmatic and effective solutions, combining technical, commercial, engineering and environmental expertise to successfully deliver renewable energy projects.
The global shift toward renewable energy in recent decades marks a transformative change in power generation, driven by the need for sustainable solutions to address climate change and enhance energy security. The green energy transition is central to this transformation, playing a crucial role in shaping the future energy landscape.
We provide projects that are not just consentable, but deliverable. And through our due diligence work we identify those that are not; drawing on our experience of design, construction, and asset management to provide advice on ‘what good looks like’.
Get in touchRenewable Energy Services
-
Strategic advisory
- Offering long-term guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to decommissioning, providing lasting value for clients.
-
Concept / site identification
- Working with landowners / developers to assess development opportunities by evaluating resource potential, grid capacity, and high-level constraints.
-
Modelling and design
- Providing workable and deliverable design, and modelling, for BESS, solar, and hybrid projects, helping improve project economics through optimisation of asset sizing and generation, and resource / grid parameters. We work with civils to account for cut and fill, whilst maintaining installed capacity, and account for fire guidance in our designs and supporting studies, such as Outline Battery Safety Management (OBSM) Plans, and Smoke Plume Modelling.
-
Glint and glare
- We assess, evaluate and mitigate for glint and glare effects of solar installations, ensuring regulatory compliance, alignment with safety and aesthetic standards and addressing of community concerns.
-
Technical due diligence
- Providing reviews of system designs, contracts, financial models, and grid offers, supporting EPC negotiations, transactions, and investments. We provide an assessment of risks and pragmatic mitigation. Project success is measured not in the number of transaction closes we support, but whether we conclude the project is a wise investment, or one to be avoided.
-
Decarbonisation
- Supporting other sectors, including Built Environment, Manufacturing & Industry, and Mining & Minerals, to decarbonise and move to net zero, with modelling of demand and generation, advice on solutions, and then design.
-
Owner’s Engineer
- Offering technical expertise, coordinated by project management and quality assurance services during all project phases, optimising outcomes through expert advice, supplier evaluations, and safety recommendations.
-
Asset management
- Managing the daily operation of renewable energy assets on behalf of asset owners to maximise technical and financial performance through daily performance monitoring, reporting, liaising with contractors, project management of major component replacements and site visits. The experience of the Asset Management team also informs other Renewable Energy Services disciplines such as modelling and design, assisting them with design considerations based on observed performance of operational assets.
