  • Ben Matthews Technical Discipline Manager - Geology
    Ben Matthews

    Based in the Bristol office, Ben has over 18 years’ experience in the Aggregates and Industrial Minerals industry. Ben is a Chartered Geologist and is experienced in all stages of the mineral extraction lifecycle, from exploration and assessment of resources, planning and permitting, quarry design, quality control, geotechnical management, restoration and after-use along with aspects such as geodiversity and mineral safeguarding.

  • Sam Moorhouse Technical Discipline Manager - Mining Advisory
    Sam Moorhouse

    Sam has 13+ years of mining consultancy experience. Prior to joining SLR, Sam was the Group Leader for the Mine Engineering and Stability Group, reporting to the European Mining Business Unit, of a large international engineering and environmental consulting firm. Sam led a team of seventeen geologists, geotechnical engineers, mining engineers, project managers, and civil engineers who provided services to a global mining client base, with projects encompassing a combination of due diligence/transaction advice and feasibility study management/implementation.

  • Siobhan Hall Principal
    Siobhan Hall

    Siobhan has over 9 years’ experience in the UK Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Industry. Siobhan is a Chartered Geologist and has been responsible for the geological management and geotechnical appraisal of numerous quarries throughout the UK. Projects have included geological modelling, reserve and resource reporting and quarry design in key cement (limestone) and high PSV (65+) quarries. She also has experience in mineral planning, safeguarding and EIA advice and preparation for the quarrying industry.

  • Nick O'Neill Director
    Nick O'Neill

    Nick has an interest in the sustainable development of natural resources and the promotion of Ireland as a place to explore for clean gas. He has been involved in drilling and exploring for oil and gas in Europe, Middle East, Africa, South America and the North Sea. Nick is currently Project Manager for the Irish Petroleum Infrastructure Programme, a joint government/oil industry research programme to enhance Ireland’s hydrocarbon prospects. Nick has contributed to a number of strategic reports on Irish energy policy including strategic gas storage, wind energy, and building community engagement and social support in energy transition.
