Biography

John Halseth is a senior geotechnical engineer with over 15 years of experience as a design consultant toa diverse clientele including private developers, general contractors, design-build teams, and partner consultants. Mr. Halseth’s experience includes program development, subsurface characterization, and providing geotechnical recommendations for a wide variety of projects. His project experience includes water treatment plants, deep excavations, mixed-use developments, airports, parking structures, institutional facilities (college laboratory and research buildings/educational facilities), and seismic retrofits projects.

Mr. Halseth is experienced in preparation of project scopes, fee estimates, and proposals as well as executing geotechnical investigations, performing analysis and design, and the preparation of comprehensive design reports. He is experienced with coordination, submittal, and obtaining approval from several building officials including, city and county building departments, and the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) and their internal geotechnical review agency the California Geological Survey (CGS).

Mr. Halseth is also experienced in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring with capability of implementing remote/automated data acquisition, automated data reduction and graphical representation, and web-based interfacing with secure user access. His instrumentation experience includes in-place inclinometers, extensometers, load cells, and seismographs.
