Birtinya shopping centre night market

Challenge

SLR was engaged by Stockland to provide traffic engineering services for the establishment of a night market and entertainment venue at the existing Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre. The development was conceived to facilitate relocating an award-winning operator from a competing centre to Stockland Birtinya. The development aligns with Stockland’s current focus on delivering unique customer experiences at its retail town centres.

Solution

SLR was awarded the project based on the experience of our project team members including:

• Significant stakeholder engagement expertise;
• Strong client relationship established through previous successful delivery of earlier stages of the Stockland Birtinya development; and
• Focus on understanding the unique operational needs of individual tenants.

The project involved traffic and parking data collection/analysis, engagement with project stakeholders including Council, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the prospective operator, parking demand assessments, traffic demand assessments and traffic design advice.
