Challenge
The Husab Uranium Project is a uranium mine in the Erongo region of western-central Namibia.
Husab is being developed as a low risk, conventional, large scale open pit mine, feeding ore to a conventional agitated acid leach processing plant.
SLR were engaged to provide a detailed cover design of the Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF) and perform long term erosion and settlement modelling of the TSF’s.
Solution
Our team completed long term land form development and planning of the site and an assessment of long term climactic effects on the landform and cover system was also undertaken. Our team also completed detailed modelling and design on the project.
Impact
Our teams detailed design of TSF’s offered cost efficincies and innovative design to the client whilst undertaking high quality peer reviewed design.
