Challenge

SLR has been involved with the design, operation and closure of the four Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF), numerous waste rock dumps (WRD) and heap leach pads across the Osborne Mine and Cloncurry Project (Mt Dore, Merlin and Starra Mines) since 2000, with the most recent design being for in pit tailings depositions.

SLR has been involved in closure aspects, including the design of cover designs specific to the climate since 2011. This includes trial pads, landform and erosion modelling, and surface water management design, all of which included consideration of PAD encapsulation and the minimisation of Acid Mine Drainage.
